Pronouns

As in every language, in english we have some pronouns to call someone instead of his/her name.

Como en todos los idiomas, en inglés tenemos algunos pronombres para llamar a alguien en vez de su nombre.

Pronouns are words that are used to take place of nouns in sentences. They usually refer back to a noun used earlier in the sentence, and they must match the number, point of view, and gender of the noun. Los pronombre son palabras que son usadas para tomar el puesto de los sustantivos en las oraciones. Ellos usualmente se refieren al sustantivo usado previamente en la oración y ellos deben coincidir con el número, punto  de vista, y genero del sustantivo. Pronombres personales y pronombres acusativos

The accusative, or the accusative case, is the case used for a noun when it is the direct object of a verb, or the object of some prepositions. In English, only the pronouns 'me', 'him', 'her', 'us', and 'them' are in the accusative.

Son aquellos que se utilizan para sustituir un antecedente (ya sea una persona, una frase, un objeto, es decir, un sustantivo) para evitar sonar tan repetitivo.

Pronombres posesivos y adjetivos posesivos

Possessive pronouns show that something belongs to someone. The possessive pronouns are my, our, your, his, her, its, and their. There's also an “independent” form of each of these pronouns: mine, ours, yours, his, hers, its, and theirs.

Los pronombres posesivos en inglés, se utilizan para indicar las cosas que nos pertenecen, que son tuyas, mías o de todos. Es decir, para indicar que algo es de cierta persona.

Pronombres reflexivos

In the English language specifically, a reflexive pronoun will end in ‑self or ‑selves, and refer to a previously named noun or pronoun (myself, yourself, ourselves, themselves, etc.). English intensive pronouns, used for emphasis, take the same form.

Los pronombres reflexivos en inglés se emplean para referirnos a las personas o a sujetos que están implicados en nuestra oración.

Se pueden utilizar cuando tanto el sujeto como el objeto de un verbo se refieren a la misma cosa o persona.

Pronombres indefinidos

An indefinite pronoun does not refer to any specific person, thing or amount. It is vague and "not definite". Some typical indefinite pronouns are: all, another, any, anybody/anyone, anything, each, everybody/everyone, everything, few, many, nobody, none, one, several, some, somebody/someone.

Cuando no necesitas identificar exactamente al objeto y/o la persona a la que te estás refiriendo, puedes usar los pronombres indefinidos.

Existen muchísimos, pero los más usados son:

Pronombres relativos

As a relative pronoun what means 'the things which. ' It does not refer to a noun that comes before it. What she said made me cry. (Here what and its clause act as the subject of the verb made.)

Son una clase particular de pronombres, ya que buscan introducir cierta información adicional en las oraciones. Conecta las cláusulas independientes con las relativas.

Pronombres demostrativos

Pronouns that point to specific things: this, that, these, and those, as in “This is an apple,” “Those are boys,” or “Take these to the clerk.” The same words are used as demonstrative adjectives when they modify nouns or pronouns: “this apple,” “those boys.”

Los pronombres demostrativos en inglés se utilizan para ocupar el lugar de un sustantivo o de alguna frase. Los principales pronombres demostrativos son:
